The Glycemic Index fuels the Body

The body needs fuel in order to maintain good health. Since the body is so complex, every second the body is creating enzymes, heat and fat tissue. If the body consumes food, it has a system for breaking down the food in the digestive track. When your not physical, the body has to work harder to burn calories which also makes energizing the body a lot harder.

Of course, your body does burn calories by breathing and very small motion, but the calories are not in large numbers. Very few calories are being burned and ultimately not burning off the stored fat. However, in order for your organs to properly function, they need to be fueled. Energy is fueled by food and exercise.

In addition, the digestive track absorbs the food’s energy from the nutrients, carbohydrates, protein and some fats. When the energy is absorbed, the digestive track converts the food to body fat. That is why it is important to have good eating habits and treat digestive conditions right away.

According to several studies, if we are able to burn all the calories that we consume, body fat would not be stored fat. In order to burn stored fat, your insulin and blood glucose levels must be stabilized. Low blood glucose levels, will burn fat. High glucose levels, will burn carbohydrates. Even though it is important to burn carbs, having constant high glucose and insulin levels causes severe problems, like Obesity.

Glycemic Index FuelsWhen you are burning mostly carbs and your insulin levels are high, you are reducing the fat burning process. Reducing the fat burning process causes food to be stored fat. Obesity may occur when the body is mostly burning carbs. This is why high glycemic index foods trigger high blood glucose levels and low glycemic index foods provide weight loss because the fat burning process is more effective.
